It all started with the US KRH86 NYC Reunion ...
September 20, 2006: Iroha

I like soup. I like soup in really big bowls. There's this particular Japanese restaurant that serves its soup in palanggana-sized bowls. It's located in Midtown Manhattan, at 49th and 6th. So, I go tell everybody let's eat at Iroha! Unfortunately, it's the restaurant next door, Sapporo, that serves the superbowl-sized soup. Really, really sorry about that...

Anyway, people at the meeting: me, Nick, Mitzie and Marius. 2 pictures only. Next meeting will be set by whoever is around this Ocotber. Email us and set the date! I promise, if you like soup, it'll be Sapporo!

\(^o^)/ Lauri

PS. Topic of interest this time? Ba't ang liit na bowl, 'kala natin palanggana? *blush* I'm still really sorry about that...but, hey! It's not the food, it's the company!

Hello everyone!

A meeting at Iroha restaurant transpired last September 20 and the following were discussed:

1. Hotel - concentrate on Manhattan hotels since the majority of those who voiced out prefers this location. A hotel inspection was held last Saturday 9/23/06 and we will send you a separate email detailing the result of that day. Lauri and I had a blast going through the rooms of this one particular hotel.

2. Reunion Party - this will be held on the evening of April 7, 2007 at Krystal in Manhattan. The cost is $25.00 (+tax & 18%gratuity) per head. Buffet of 5 dishes, complimentary cake + 1 choice dessert, 4 hours (extension is $100/hour). Since there will be approx 25-30pax we cannot have the whole place to ourselves so I requested if we can at least have a divider. They said they will try to have some sort of divider for us. I have yet to confirm how much is the cost for kids. They have a projector and a big screen that we can use for our program/presentations. Corkage is $5.00. You can get the wines from me at a discounted cost. I request for advance notice lang. Of course, it would be much preferred if we can have this party at someone's house and we can do potluck or order the food. This would be so much cheaper than having to pay $25.00/head. Remember, we are also trying to raise funds. So, if there is someone who is willing to offer their homes..we would appreciate it very much. Don't worry, we will be careful not to burn your house. :D

3. Welcome dinner - it was suggested that on the first day (arrival day), April 6, 2007, a welcome dinner will be given in a restaurant. Marius will be in charge for this event. He will let us know the specifics later on.

4. NYC Pasyalan - 2 choices will be given: the walking tour or to take the Hop-on Hop-off tour. This was suggested to consider those who have little kids with them. Baka kasi mapagod sa lakaran. I will advise later on the exact cost of the Hop-on Hop-off tour.

5. Money matters - the most important topic. The only thing that we need to collect money beforehand is for the hotel and for the reunion party. All the rest in the agenda is right there and then. Therefore we need a bank account to hold the money collected. We opposed opening a new account due to a lot of restrictions/requirements that, as a group, we cannot supply as of yet. It was suggested that someone's personal account will be used to deposit cash/checks (sorry..parang di ko ata maalala kung decided na tayo to use Marius' account...please help!). Once we get into contract with the hotel and Krystal, please expect that they will ask for deposit.

6. Others - logo may be scrapped or come up with just a simple writing of KRH86. Nick said he may have an idea on what to do with this. So, Nick and Lauri are in charge of this. Nick..can you elaborate more about the website you mentioned.

Also, the latest addition to this email is Dad Roy and Pat Tiongco_Magahis. Welcome..welcome! I attached previous emails about the US Reunion to keep you abreast of what's been going on before we were able to locate you. Pat, as I have mentioned, the reunion is going to be held here in New York City next year April 6-8, 2007. We hope that you would mark this in your calendar so you can definitely attend. Also, Dad Roy and Pat, we hope that you can come on the next group meeting. Usually it is being held here in Manhattan. We'll give you advance notice so you can fix your sched.

Let us know who else are here in the States & Canada so we can invite them over. Dad Roy provided us with the contact information of Dr. Lolita Bitanga which I will try to call. Paging Canadian friends...please contact Kuya Meyer at (email us to get numbers) and inform him of what's going on and get his email address as well so we can include him in the Reunion discussion.

Suggestions & comments are welcome. Negative reactions are taboo...bwaahahaha!!

Look forward to our next posting which is about the hotel. Please do not forget "Reply to All" so everyone can see your comments/reactions. Para walang magsasabi na gawa gawa ko lang ito...hehehe!

God bless to all!

Mitzie
