It all started with the US KRH86 NYC Reunion ...
May 25, 2007: Go Sushi

It's the Friday before the Memorial Day Weekend. Try as I might, I could not get a pair of plane tickets to California this weekend at a price that I liked. The price range was around $500 per person. My budget? $500 for two people...

Anyway, it just so happened that I had the day off and so did Mitzie. No kids, no hubbies, just us girls. Mitzie suggested Go Sushi located in the Upper East Side, her neighborhood and playground. Although I've been in New York for more than a decade, I really still don't know all the little nooks and crannies as well. Glad Mitzie does!

What a find! Japanese food that isn't too expensive, and just the right portion! I ordered the Go Sushi Box. It had 1 tuna, 1salmon, 4 California rolls, salad and Soba Noodles. With it, I ordered their Fresh Brewed Ginger Ale *THE MUST* Mmm... I started with the soba noodles, and I said no taste, needs soy sauce. I poured soy sauce here and there all over my food, before realizing there was a little container on top of my California rolls. Hmmm, looks like peanut sauce. Oops, I guess it's supposed to go on the noodles! Duh! Mitzie just laughed. Hala!

Main topic of discussion? Our kids of course! Her eldest went on a long trip for the weekend. I said, "You look awfully calm for a mom whose son just left this morning." Yun pala, last Wednesday was when he left. Now, last Wednesday was another story for her. I remember the first time my youngest was away from home when he went to the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. Dear me! Was I ever a mess that first summer, he had just finished 5th grade then.

We went on to talk about people who weren't there, like our husbands. LOL. Also places to live, school communities, work, observations on life, etc.

This whole week, I had been debating with myself if I should take 3 graduate credits in Math this summer. The deadline to submit the registration form was that very Friday. I had been vacillating on whether or not I should register. Mitzie helped with that. What is the alternative, other than go to class this summer? I said, do nothing, stay at home. *grin* Basically, be lazy! Mitzie was so nice to accompany me downtown to drop off my paperwork. *Hug*

Before getting on the train to Wall Street, we passed by a Starbucks. I ordered my all time favorite: Caramel Macchiato (Venti). I forgot that a Venti was a large and a Tall was a small. Did I change my order? Nope!

All in all, it was a great day, despite the summer like temperature. Even though we aren't going for a trip out of town, the City's always a place to explore (and eat in!)
