Lunch with St. Ann School, now dinner with St. Denis Parish. The end of the school year dinner for the CCD/Sunday school teachers was scheduled for this same day as my day school lunch.

Cornyn’s Coach ‘n’ Four is an Irish restaurant on Broadway right beside the diner. I was thinking of ordering shepherd’s pie, but I was looking for something not too heavy. I settled for roast turkey and mashed potatoes, or as the server said, “Thanksgiving in June!”

I brought my photo album along to show my youngest one’s confirmation pictures to his sacramental teacher. Included were his pictures from his REACH graduation, which I shared with the pastor. Of course, the album had pictures from both my son’s graduations.

The server was quite amusing as she asked for what drinks we wanted. One of the teachers said wine would be good, since we don’t get enough in Church. “Ah,” the server said, “but you know it isn’t wine anymore in Church. Of course, you can always ask Father to change that.” She pointed to the pitcher of water. ROTFL.

Dinner was great with such good company. A nice way to end a very teacher-y day!
