have you ever wondered
what it would be like
to catch a desert flower between your teeth
and astride a mighty horse
to ride bravely into the wind
feel the sun wash over you
touch you soft and tender
feel your hair blowing in the breeze
as the painted desert passes
on either side of you
set your sight on a mountain
in the distance
and given yourself wholly over
to reaching it as a safe haven
have you ever kissed lips so sweet
so soft ... so tender
they take your breath away
and felt her touch upon you
like the gentle mist of early morn
been moved to kiss her passionately
and never stop
felt your heart race at the mere
mention of her name
caught yourself lost in thought
of her most valued love
as she smiles at you
and you shyly look down
not knowing what to say or do
have you ever known a love
who moved you to do things
you never dreamed you would
or caught up in the moment wondered
where has she been all your life
then gently taken her hand
looked deep into her eyes
and said "i love you"
like a sacred chant or mantra
have you ever really loved
