After completion of the initial maintenance and documentation, responsible for assisting musicians, producers and other personnel with setting up for the initial recording session, labeling the master tapes and completing a listing of which cuts were to be recorded. After the First Engineer begins the recording session, responsible for documenting the beginning and ending times of each cut, whether it was complete or would be erased at a later date, which selections require over-dubbing (post production) and if there are any problems. Upon completion (wrapping) of a session, responsible for striking the studio (taking down and storing equipment used) and normalling the board. Credited with salvaging from virtually unusable contractor supplied masters over 500 hours of radio programs utilizing equalization, signal processors and techniques for combining then re-recorded these shows. Received Special Act or Service Award for the more than 1000 hours of service rendered the Radio Production Branch in one year. Skills utilized in the assembly and editing of the shows "Light Of My Life," "Love On The Rock," "Banners Of Faith," "The Protestant Hour," and "Focus On The Family." Recorded "The Louise Foster Show live inhouse utilizing all ancillary equipment to include, but not limited to, equalizers, patch bays, notch filters, two track recording machines, cart machines, turntables, cassette decks and amplifiers. Also responsible for the post-production of "The Golden Days Of Radio," "The Harry Newman Show," "The Gene Price Show," "Dick Clark's Rock, Roll & Remember," "The Comedy Show," "Jazz Beat," "The Don Tracy Show," "The Charlie Tuna Show" and "Swingin' Years." Reported all host country sensitivities, timed each show and completed final check prior to sending master tapes to the disc contractor. Sound Technician for a live band, responsibilities included, but not limited to, initial check-out {if possible} of the room being used for the live set to determine the acoustic characteristics and what steps needed to be taken to ensure a balanced mix {if the room could not be checked out before the session, acoustic checks were performed at the time of the set}, draw a diagram based upon where the band would actually play and where to place the monitors (speakers), amplifiers and mixing console. Determined the arrival time to best facilitate setup. Setup the console, amps and run cables for mics ensuring they were least accessible to the listening audience and as non-obtrusive as possible. When the band members arrived, responsible for getting the proper levels and balance of each instrument and vocalist, establish the mix for the band's stage monitors (speakers) and the separate overall mix for the audience. At session's end, assist in striking (taking down) equipment to prepare for its removal.
