The Mabuses sound a bit weird but they're very melodic. The songs are pretty catchy but on
a bit of a love 'em or hate 'em basis. I think like with Kate Bush if you listen to them at the
wrong time they could really bug you but at other times they'll be your best band for the day. I
only know of the one album (listed below) and no proper links on the net.
The Melbourne Method:
Links, and I don't mean sausages.
The style perhaps compares to the Blue Aeroplanes, go-y at times, maybe a bit whiny at
times but comfortable, but a tad weirder than BA's. Instruments seem to be guitars, drums
and some sort of keyboard that mimics violins and such like. Like Big Audio Dynamite, Pop
Will Eat Itself, Jesus Jones and others they are very fond of using samples - not a dancy
shite sort of samples played over and over, but mostly just sort of background interest. The
subject matter seems vaguely akin to They Might Be Giants, but having said that I change
my mind, perhaps a bit like the Blue Aeroplanes again. Oh I ain't too sure, but if you see it
anywhere I'd say, snap it up if it's cheap but if you're paying full wack then think twice but not
three times. "I'd hate to take a bite out of you, you're a cookie full of arcenic".

Twee kitten is a sort of indie/alternative music archive, The Mabuses are listed on the index
but there isn't any information, I suspect that there will be at a later date so give it a try if you
fancy.
