Tinuvial’s Haiku

I have love for you
Burning deeply in my soul
Can you see that light?

Seeing all you see,
Knowing things you hide within,
I can bring comfort.

Kindred spirit I,
Reaching out to bring you near,
Words my instruments.

You wander alone
Yet others travel ahead
And reach back to help.

Haiku not my form
But from your words I see how
Words come easy now.

Passion’s fire not lost
Embers sure to flame again,
Love to grow once more.

Afraid to show you
How much longing lies inside
But I must risk all.

I see you hiding
Not from fear, but from yourself.
I understand not.

The poet slumbers
But the voices will not die
They cry out anyway.

Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, Touch
All could be taken away
Yet I would know you.

In darkness I dwell
Remembering yesterday
Yearning for your touch.

In shadows I seek
Emotions hidden deeply
That I wish to share.

Sending out my words
Waiting for yours to return
On pins and needles.

Love cannot fail us
When trust is given freely
Held between our hearts
