THE TRAITOR HEART
By: Bob Beardon aka Thon
In all of us there dwells a traitor, waiting,
one who would betray us; the heart.
For it does not know of wedding rings
and vows, or things that have been said,
long ago, yet binding still; it does not know.Nor does it care, this Traitor Heart, not a bit.
For it responds to something beyond us,
outside our rules and laws; our right and wrong.
Something above what we have been taught,
or that we believe to be correct, unchangeable.No. The Traitor Heart is in tune with more,
more than these artificial things of man, Rules.
It is in harmony with the vibrations of the stars,
with the pulse of God. And not the God of this
man-made religion or that, but with universal God.So that this thing, the Heart, feels on the mystical,
the unexplainable plane where soars our soul.
And it loves those that it chooses, whether we
feel it right or wrong, or even if we might wish it not,
and to it, wedding bands are pieces of metal only. And so it betrays us, it loves those we fear to.
It makes us love when we know we must not,
that we cannot. Not of our leave does it inquire.
The Traitor Heart never asks,"Are you free
to love this one?" It merely says,"You do."
