THE   STATUE   LOVERS

by:   Bob Bearden   aka   Thon_

Our love a sculptured masterpiece,
creation of beauty and Art.
All marble grace and perfect shape,
and crafted from the heart.

Our pose a study in contrasts, yes,
and yet in compliment.
Expressive hands and tilted heads,
a chiseled life-event.

Now see the chin uplifted there
on your angelic face.
And I look down all thoughtful frown,
and study that pure grace.

Apraising stares of those who pass
delight to see us there.
In love I stand, with sculpted hand
run softly through your hair

But careful pose and polished stone
can't always say what's true,
if hidden then, 'neath ivory skin,
the lie is me and you.

And though we seem to those around,
the ideal pair and right.
Our marble eyes are scupltured lies
without the gift of sight.
