The door opens quietly,hinting of well oiled hinges.Immediatly you can smell the faint perfume of aged wine.There were a short flight of steps that led down,beside each step was a lighted candle in place of the rails.You feel the hospitality and comfort of this unusual basement.When you reach the end of the stairs,there was a long corridor by the far end of the room leading to the rooms.Two huge wine barrels were placed in the room itself,you put your ears against one of the barrels and knocked softly,there was a hollow thud.The other empty barrel was filled with pieces of parchment leather,neatly pinned up by the previous groups of guests to stay the night.There were notes with "Thank You" messages while others were just pretty confetti.Interested,you look at the names of each not and became puzzled.There was a note from a Lord named 'Mozart' and another from Lady 'Audrey Hepburn'?They didn't sound like locals at all,nor did they sound like anyone from Zan-Kel.
"Maybe from the ocean?"you think,there were merman communities living in the nearby Atlantis ocean and they would come up once or twice.But not very often for fear of being sold as the night's feast.
you think of leaving a note here yourself,after the way this night has gone.There was a dusty rough tipped quill by the side,and just as you suspected the ink bottle was dried up.You could carve your comment's into the barrel with a knife,that would leave a lasting impression!"Maybe later."you think to yourself.
You walk to the row of rooms at the back,there was no one around at the moment so you made your way to your room.K-Lerb had said somthing about 'Room 6'...
As you enter what used to be one of the storage rooms,you find to
your delight a luxurious guestroom.There was a table in a corner,
a tub of clear water,a box of candles and best of all a large bed.You cautiously sit on one end to test it and was very glad that it was indeed what K-Lerb had promised you!Goosedown!You throw yourself onto the matteress,tossing around in childish enjoyment.Whatever happened before now,you were sure it was going to be as good or even better when you close your eyes and accept the lure of the dreamworld... ...
