Creation
In orgastic fire the world was first conceived,
Not cool mind but bright passion presided there;
One single flaming surge, release.
Life-light bursting forth in ecstasy,
A cosmic reverie,
Pushing back both time and space,
Relentless, glorious grace.
What godly titan, out of time,
Alive in pulse as well as mind,
Has fathered this euphoric blast?
Did he revel in his consummate task?
Did ear thrill to hear the sound?
Did sinews quiver in joy profound?
Listen to your nature which is His.
The son, like the Father, creator is.
The son knows the Father
As the father he becomes.
The thrill in the begetting
Surpasses reason, understanding,
Unprobed by science,
Known to sense alone,
It drives the worlds in passion singing,
In one eternal round.
