The two songs are also very different. The first song, "Children of the Nodapoc Gather Round" is about, well, the way the world is. The control of the superpowers, the threat of war and the low-level of tv-programmes are some of the things noted. The music is quite hard to notice from the background, as the attention is attached to Tibet's speech in the form of a poem. A very enthusiastic performance from him (in a very positive sense). Uncle David talking to his disciples.
"Love Dance of the Nodding Folk" is like from another planet. The song apparently uncovers some of Tibet's favourite pick-up lines. "Can i interest you in death?" Short of giving a few nice lines to try, it is quite an unsatisfactory performance lyric-wise, and of the person reciting it, i don't even wish to take a guess. Music refers heavily to childhood with circus-like melodies and instruments.
Along with Tibet on the album appear COIL and Nurse With Wound.
