TRAVEL TIPS... Part 1 In A Series
First stop Rome, Italy. Why Rome? I thought it was a beautiful, exciting, old and classical city...before I got there. Hell was I wrong, it is filled with the nastiest, dirtiest, grungiest men on the face of the earth. Avoid the place at all costs, or at least public transportation at that. I am not good looking, I am not even decent looking, yet guys still hit on me! Ignoring them does not work either! You physically have to remove their hands from places they should absolutely not be for any reason or you have to curse them off, and well since I speak no Italian words beyond food...
The city itself is not that clean either and I was there in June and it was hot as hell. Yes there are beautiful and of course historical sites there; St. Peter's, the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon, Trajan's Column (a personal favorite), etc. Maybe I was sick of Italy at that point. I had spent 3 days in Florence, 1 in Livorno (a small beach town), and another 3 in Rome, it was way too much. But if you must go don't tell me! And if you do go and manage to have a good time and not be harassed by some asshole, or many assholes - I'm amazed and I'd like to hear about it! Mail me and tell me your experience
