The lighter side of Tatay's prostate cancer

Last Wednesday, Dr. Jose Albert Reyes III told us that Tatay had advanced prostate cancer based on the bone scan, the PSA and the other blood tests.

Just before we went inside his office, he invited Tatay to guest with him on the TV program, "Salamat Dok". When Tatay said yes, Dr Joe III gave our contact number to the segment producer of the show.

After the consultation, Tatay went to the neighborhood barber shop for a haircut. Dapat daw siya ang magmukhang doktor at si Dr. Joe III ang magmukhang pasyente dun sa "Salamat Dok" appearance nila on Sunday.

The segment producer called as soon as I got home. They will do Tatay's film clip on Friday.

Friday morning, we went for Tatay's initial monthly injection. It was rainy.

Friday afternoon, the weather cleared. ABS-CBN picked up Tatay (already in sandals, shorts and T-shirt), brought him to the QC Circle, and took a video of him walking and exercising in the park. Then they brought him to the house of the cameraman and took another video of him eating galunggong, pinakbet, saging. Also eating ponkan while watching TV. Also taking vitamins. And reading a magazine.

Saturday, Tatay skipped his visit to the neighborhood masonic lodge. Matutulog daw siya kasi baka mapuyat dahil excited.

ABS-CBN picked him up at 5:15 am on Sunday. "Salamat Dok" airs at 5:45 am. They went to the make-up room first. The film clip was shown first before he was shown live at a little past 6 am.

Napagod at napuyat ang Tatay, kaya pagbalik ay natulog. Halos whole day natulog kaya hindi sila nakauwi sa Cabanatuan.

Ojie's classmate from Pantabangan texted that he watched the show. Carling Carlos called from Cabanatuan and talked to Tatay. He also watched the show. Two people her in the office told me they were able to see Tatay on TV yesterday.

 

I think he will get used to his celebrity status!
