I woke up early.Had breakfast of tea, pandesal with scrambled egg. Took leisurely bath. Put on a duster and went out ot get the paper, Bae Osiang puto and sari-sari store pancit. I did try to get a Goldilocks gelatin, ubos na. Ayos na ang handa ko. Meron pa naman salmon in a box from Vancouver.

I read the paper in bed. Halfway in the set, somebody was knocking on the door of the apartment. I went down to look and there was Tatay already accepting delivery. Wow, one big green box of Merced cake. Meron pa po dun sa ibaba, sabi ng delivery girl. She came back with two red bags, all the way to the kitchen where we unpacked everything with her firm instructions to open them up to avoid spoilage. I asked Tatay for tip (P40).

Opened up everything. Arranged the containers of the seafood medley, kare-kare and chicken with quail eggs and green peas on the table. The corn soup remained in its plastic container. Put the fruit salad in the chiller, muntik nang di magkasya. Took pictures. Sampled everything one by one. Sarap! Nagsaing na.

Called Mommy up. Nagsimba, said Sonia.

Gusto ng Tatay gisingin si Ojie for lunch. Bakit ba e tulog pa ang tao? Nauna kaming kumain. Gulat si Ojie nang magising. Akala niya pupunta pa siya sa Lung Center Market, di na pala kailangan.

Lut called. When she asked about my handa, I enumerated everything that we have. She was impressed! Padala lahat ni Mommy, sabi ko.

I took a nap and fell asleep until it was dark. Busog kasi. When I called up Mommy again, no one was answering. I figured they must be up in their room already.

Kain pa uli. Sabi ng Tatay, dumidighay na raw siya sa busog!

Got many text greetings, all answered immediately.

I waited for my birth hour of 11:30 pm. Saw portions of the 'Lord of the Rings' movie on TV. Also the live coverage of the fashion show of our international beauties plus the peformance of Lea Salonga at the ASEAN Summit in Cebu.

Nagligpit. Cut up the cake. Punung-puno ang ref.

Hindi umabot si Ojie sa 11:30 pm. But I was still up when he arrived. I have just reheated the corn soup so ate that plus the cake.

I went up to my room at past 12 midnight.

Before sleeping, I got to thinking: Now that I am 58, what? Basta, pupunta ako sa Vienna. Bahala na.
