LAURA
LAURA

Youth sparkles in your
eyes
Advancing each step you walk
so gracefully into each moment
expecting and arriving within
the adventures you seek.
Seldom has one person
given back to each day
as much joy, graciously sharing
all you know
with others hungry for the
spirit you alone do keep.
But, if their steps
can shadow yours
and when their hearts are free,
Treasures you unlock in theirs'
gifts for all, there'll be.
So, my dearest friend,
hold onto all you are
maintain your spirit and your
glee
See all things new and
interesting, and
Please, stay one more day with
me.
(I wrote this
poem of Laura after we spent a summer day last
year at the Harbor watching the boats and sharing
our stories and poems. Laura suffered a fall last
week after spending a lovely day with a friend.
She broke her neck in the fall and died the
following day - Friday, Oct. 24th, 1997. The world
will continue and will be brighter because of the inspiration
she gave to all who were close. She loved and shared the arts with others.)
