BEWARE FLYING SAUCERS
by Ann Horey
My blood raced with the thunderous crash,
The sight of which dizzied me.
The air was filled with tense anticipation.
Time stopped dead.
I could not move, could not even breathe.
My mind whirled.
My body went numb.
Was this reality?
Had what I'd seen,
Actually happened?
As the clock ticked, the spell was broken.
I wondered if it was the shattering of my heart
I had just witnessed,
Or merely your coffee cup breaking, as it hit the wall.
