~Why Bother~
~August 5, 1998.~

Why live if you know you're going to die?

Why ask questions if you may not get any answers?

Why hold on if you may have to let go?

Why smile if you're only going to frown later?

Why talk if you may not be heard?

Why be rebellious now if you may have to be responsible later?

Why wipe away your tears when you may only cry them later?

Why swim if you may drown?

Why stand tall if you may have to kneel?

Why have fun if you may have to be serious?

Why try if you may fail?

Why fly if you may fall?

Why have a shower if you're only going to get dirty again?

Why look if you may not see?

Why touch if you may not feel?

Why speed up if you're only going to have to slow down?

Why eat breakfast if you're probably going to be hungry before lunch anyway?

Why sing if you may cry?

Why warm up if you may cool down again?

Why rush if you may have to slow down?

Why start if you may have to stop?

Why step out if you may have to hide?

Why battle if you may lose?

Why love if you may end up hurting?

Why push if you may have to let go?

Why look forward to spring if winter always comes?

Why move forward if you may have to back up?

Why run if you may trip?

Why feel comfortable if you may panic?

Why hope if you may be let down?

Why be carefree if you may have to stop and think?

Why shave if it always grows back?

Why get up in the morning if you're only going to go back to bed at night?

Why watch the sun rise if it's only going to set?

Why write in the sand if it may wash away?

Why look for pictures in the clouds if they may simply roll on by?

Why read a story if you know it's going to end?

Why walk on the moon if you know you probably can't stay anyway?

Why look for good if you may see bad?

Why step up to bat if you may strike out?

Why get up if you may fall down?

Why be bold if you may feel fearful?

Why aim if you may miss?

Why watch the fireworks if they're going to end?

Why get wet if you may have to dry off?

Why feel the fire if you may have to put it out?

Why think about tomorrow if it may not come?

Why say hello if you may have to say goodbye?

Why pour out your heart if it may get trampled on?

Why trust if that trust may be broken?

Why reach for stars that may be too high?

Why pray if you may not "hear" an answer?

***Note***Why? Well, everyday, each of us does things that may seem pointless to ourselves

or to others...the point is, these things are NOT really pointless and if you start to

think of certain things that way, such as life and death, healing and hurting, then you

might as well question every single thing you do...you see? It has to stop

somewhere...we need to stop asking why all the time...

So my answer to 'why' is:

~~~~~~~~~WHY NOT?????!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~
Much love always,
Hope, faith and hugs,
Meggie
