Yule 1997 Edition, Black Fire/Moon Fire: "Wandering With the Wizzer"

The South

Yule 1997 Edition, Black Fire/Moon Fire

Wandering with the Wizzer

Where do I turn? How about South?

The salamanders raise their heads
And their tails move back and forth
And they look at me, asking,
Do you want our help?
I look aside, not believing that they are real
Only a flit of my imagination, seeing hope.
Wanting anything but to accept responsibility
For what I have said and done.
They don't reach out, I must call them to me.
And they are willing to come,
To come into my body and mind
Adding their strength to mine
And giving me peace.
Isn't that what I want?
If I call them, they will come.
They will give me peace.
Why do I wait, do I not believe?
Can I not accept their offer?
Why do I not call them?

Bah Humbug!

As CHRISTMAS comes, but once a year,
And we all follow, like sheep, not deer,
Seeking to understand what makes it great,
And finding things instead that grate.

The stores, the TV, the ads everywhere,
Proclaim Joy is your's, and we really care.
You can be loved even more this year
If you give people our teddy bear.

It's not just the money, no that's not the case
I just find it hard when you have to keep pace
With the Jones' or Smith's or whomever you see,
I don't want to be them, I just want to be me.

So here it all comes, and it's from the heart,
I love you now, as from the start.
And in each opportunity I can show that I care
Without bells and whistles, candy canes or hot air.

Without toys and games or things to expect,
Without frantic shopping just for effect,
I give you love, it doesn't have to be bought,
I give you love, and ask for nought.

Great Earth Mother, Goddess, maid and crone,
Help me find a way to remember, when I am alone
That I can change my life, as I want it to be.
I can find peace, love and tranquility.

I don't have to fuss,
Or rant, rave and cuss,
I can let others rave
And I can behave.

Knowing none can do anything to me
Unless I let them, no one else, ME.
