Dear AMS,
I have a question for your advice column. How does one explain the twisted mind of a 13 year old boy?!  How can they be so unsensitive to others?
If you could, try to give me an answer.
-Baffled girl (also 13)

Dear Baffled,
You know, the female and the male brain are similar to apples and oranges.
Both are round, but one is crisp and sweet while the other is soggy and tart. Thirteen year
old boys have just spent 13 carefree years playing tackle, watching Star Trek, or dreaming
up novel ways of heroism and being the center of their own world. Even though they
may suddenly look kind of cute from your vantage, underneath they are a bit soggy and tart.
They just haven't spent much time on the art of being sensitive. They do eventually learn
though, through necessity. Otherwise they could never get the attention of the 13 year
old girls that they are suddenly finding interesting. Meanwhile, my advice to you is to do
what 13-year old girls are meant to do, tease them unmercifully.
