About Waste Of Time

A sidebar to Waste Of Time

"Waste Of Time" was written about my experience with many different young women... particularly Shawn, Carol and Shana. These three had one thing in common: that they put me as the excuse, that I was wasting their time. This song was to respond to that thought. I hate it, absolutely, when I am treated like someone a woman just wants to climb over and get to the next one. That's way uncool.

This was the beginning of my "Harmonize for the moment" phase, which has evolved into my overall musical style. The disregard for key signature and pure harmony is most apparent in the bridge for the lyric: But not about ourselves - an A minor chord to harmonize the B in the melody. It felt right.

Don't you just love the way Matt names names?
