Take Out the Ballgame (the continuing saga of Glue)

Although it was late in the afternoon, the day was still uncommonly warm for an October autumn. As the last baseball game of the year, the stadium was crowded, making the seats where Glue and Pink sat, even warmer.

"Where the hell is the beer guy," Pink grumbled as she looked out amongst the cheering crowd for that comforting spot of blue. "Well," she continued, looking forlornly at her empty beer bottle, "do you want me to run to the concession stand?"

Glue turned to Pink with a look of disgust. "Haven't I taught you anything? Just watch the power of the Glue." Glue closed her eyes for a moment and concentrated hard. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and blankly pointed off to her left.

Within moments, the elusive beer guy came around the corner, lugging his big blue crate filled with ice cold beer up the stairs to where the two young ladies sat.

"Too bad they don't serve margaritas here," Pink said as she paid for two beers with a flirtatious smile. She wanted the beer guy to remember to visit them before they finished this round of beers.

"Ooooh! We should try to get Margarita Mike to come up here and open up a stand or something!"

"That would be great. The only thing missing from this game is that the players should be playing in Speedos or something."

"Have you even SEEN some of these guys? I don't think I really want to see them nude."

"But look how cute and tight their asses are!"

"It's all in the pants."

"Yes it is! Hahaha!"

"Oh Pink! Get your mind out of the gutter and have another beer. It's only our fifth one and I haven't fallen off of any barstools yet!"

"And I haven't knocked over any drinks!"

As the girls were laughing at their various adventures, a group of rather scummy looking guys searched the crowds. When they spotted the girls, they gave a great shout and raced up to where their seats were.

Remembering of all their various scandals and stories, the girls didn't notice the group of rather creepy looking guys pointing and gesturing to them. One of them started to run toward the two lovely girls. Running so fast that he couldn't stop, he rammed right into Pink.

"Hey! Watch it! You spilled my drink!" Pink grumbled as she dug in her purse, looking for tissues, "that's a capital crime you know!"

"Pink!" Glue exclaimed, "look!"

Pink noticed the tremor of despair in Glue's face and turned around to see the guy who bumped into her and gave a little yelp.

"Shady Motorcycle guy!" Glue and Pink exclaimed together. As they looked past him, they noticed others coming their way.

" And Malik the bartender!" Pink exclaimed in horror.

"And Weird JVC guy!" Glue gasped.

" Creepy Canadian guy!"

"Androgynous Jane!"

"Scary Steve!"

"What? What is going on?" Pink cried.

"We have banded together," Weird JVC guy said, "you have wronged us you know!"

"What? What are you talking about?"

"We bought you drinks and gave you admiration and all you did was spurned us!"

"Hey now! Androgynous Jane never bought us a drink! In fact her friend Evil Rat Bastard still owes us a few for standing us up!"

"That is true," Androgynous Jane replied, "but you also stole the affections of Evil Rat Bastard away from me! He loves me! Me! I tell you!"

Glue and Pink looked at each other, trying not to laugh. Despite the strangeness of the situation, the idea that Androgynous Jane and Evil Rat Bastard…well…

"So, what do you want from us?" Glue asked, as she wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes. "I can't believe that you guys all banded together, how much more geeky can you get, anyway?"

"We want you to love us! To hang out with us! To go drinking with us and never ever leave us again!"

Glue and Pink burst out into another gale of laughter, as the guys stood there looking dejected and perplexed.

"What shall we do now?" Creepy Canadian guy asked, "I was sure they would jump at the chance to hang out with us more often!"

While the guys started to murmur amongst themselves on what to do next, Glue and Pink very quickly and quietly slinked past the seats and raced down the steps before the guys noticed that they were running away.

"Where are we going?" Pink asked, "it's too warm to be running all day! Plus, my beer is running low again!"

"I agree! We need to find Nook!"

"Nook! Nook is at this game! He'll come and protect us!"

Without another word, the girls made their way to Nook's seats, on the other side of the stadium. They moved purposefully, but not in a rush, as not to draw attention to themselves. Stopping only twice to get more beer, they were nearly at the gate when D&B Scott stood in their way.

"Scott!" cried the girls in unison, "what are you doing here? Are we glad to see you!"

Without acknowledging them, D&B Scott gave a great shout, "Over here! Over here guys! The girls are over here!"

"What? What was that for?" Pink glared at him angrily as she kicked him in the shins.

"Yeah! We tipped you well and are always amusing! Where else can you watch Pink knock over drinks with her breasts?"

Scott looked contrite; "I'm sorry girls! I had forgotten about how kind you were to me. I was just upset because I didn't think you ever wrote those letters of recommendation to my boss."

"Of course we did! Don't be silly," Pink said, giving Glue a glare not to say anything. "We wrote glowing letters. Now let us through!"

"I'm sorry girls," Scott said, "next round of drinks are on me, but I can't let you go until I get a raise from my boss."

Resignedly, Glue swung her half-empty beer bottle around and clunked Scott on the head, cracking the bottle (and possibly Scott's head).

"Wow Glue!" Pink said, obviously impressed, "that was some hit!"

"Yeah, well he's going to have to buy me another beer once he gets his head together again!"

"Hurry! They're almost here!"

The girls ran through the gate and down the steps to scanning the rows of seats for Nook. Finally they spotted him, slouched in his seat, baseball cap pulled over his eyes, beer in hand and cheering and yelling at the players. Rolling their eyes, the girls were almost tempted to leave Nook alone. He was obviously enjoying the game as only men could, but then they spotted the guys coming through the gate. Grabbing Pink's arm, Glue raced down the steps to where Nook was seated.

"Glue! Pink! What are you girls doing here?" Nook said, blinkingly, as if unsure if the girls were an alcohol-induced hallucination or not.

"Help us! The guys are after us!"

"What guys? Do you want me to beat them up for you?"

"Heck no! If anyone is going to be beating guys up, it's me!" said Pink with a glare at the suggestion. Nook knew better then to intrude upon Pink's bizarre idea of fun.

"Help us Nook! They want us to go drinking with them and spend time with them and…and…and…talk!" Glue said in a wail.

"Is that so bad?"

"LOOK AT THEM!"

Nook turned around and saw Androgynous Jane lumbering down the stairs looking as manly as ever. Nook shuddered and drew the girls to him.

"Come and nook! I'll protect you!"

Gratefully the girls sunk into his arms as he cuddled them. The guys (and Androgynous Jane) ran up and down the aisle until their shirts were drenched.

"I know they are here!" Scary Steve wheezed.

"Maybe they left the stadium! Should I go and get the bus and drive around to find them?" Scary Motorcycle guy asked, trying to look cool. Everyone just rolled their eyes at him.

"What are we going to do?" Pink asked, noticing that the panting guys didn't look like they were going to give up the search, "they are going to find us sooner or later!"

"Don't worry! I'm Glue remember?" With that, Glue closed her eyes and concentrated. Then opened them with a vague look in her eyes and she pointed. From around the corner, a beer guy appeared, carrying his blue crate of ice cold beer.

"How's that going to help?" Nook asked, looking perplexed.

"Just watch."

As the beer guy walked up the steps, the sweating guys rushed to him and all bought ice-cold beers. Dehydrated and overheated, they guzzled the beer and before the beer guy could walk more then a few steps, bought another one. The shock of the cold on their hot bodies and the alcohol quenching the dehydration, the guys all slumped down drunk and sick. Soon the paramedics came and rushed them away.

"Wow, you really need to market that skill Glue!" both Pink and Nook gushed.

"It's nothing. After all, I'm Glue, remember!"

The three of them cuddled under the darkening October sky, as they watched Derek Lowe pitch a curve ball, and Cal Ripkin hitting it, sending it soaring into the dusky purple sky.

"Have another beer Glue?" Pink asked.

"Don't mind if I do…"
