The setting is a jungle path and surrounding jungle. Shania and Nog are arguing.

Nog: "I’m not trying to tell you who you can see. But how can you even stand Filo. He’s such a pig."

Shenia: "He’s not a pig."

Nog: "You haven’t known him long enough, you’ll see."

Shenia: "If he is a pig, he’s a rich pig."

Nog: (Grabbing Shenia by the shoulders and shaking her.) "So…. You’re for sale to the highest bidder are you." (he pushes Shenia backwards.)

Shenia: (slaps Nog, then turns and runs away). "I’m not for sale."

Nog:: "Come back here you…" (he gives chase).

This scene consists of a series of inter cut shots of Shenia running and Nog chasing. Shenia initially has a good head start, but trips several times, allowing Nog to catch up.

Shenia: "Why do you care who I see. You’re seeing Kia. She’s no winner."

The setting is the quicksand pit and surrounding jungle. Nog closes to within a few feet of Shenia and both are running very fast. Both suddenly run staright into the quicksand and plunge waist deep. Nog bogs down a few feet further from the edge than Shenia.

The above dialogue continues in ad-lib with lots of exclamations, calls for help, screems, gags, etc. as the two struggle and gradually sink deeper. Shots are inter cut, going from Shenia to Nog and back as they both struggle to reach safe ground. Eventually, Shenia is able to grab a falled vine or root just as her face is going under. Nog goes under. Shenia hauls herself out of the mire and starts to wipe the mud off her shin. At first she just wipes the mud off as though to clean herself – then begins rubbing it on herself just a little.

Shenia: (In a tone suggesting something has been awakened inside Shenia) "Oh my! Oh my my my"

Scene 1

The scene is inside Shenia’s hut. She and Shaylee are having a sibling disagreement.

Shaylee: (Moving across the room and picking up an article of clothing) "Maybe I do it just to get even with you for wearing my stuff."

Shaylee: "No, its mine. You had one like it but you got it all muddy somehow. I saw it in the trash pile a couple of weeks ago."

Shenia: "Hmph! (She turns away. Then to herself only) "Well, maybe some of you’re clothes might get a little muddy too. I’ll fix you."

Scene 2

The setting is outdoors on a path through the jungle.

Shenia: (Coming up to Shaylee somewhat cautiously). "Shaylee?"

Shaylee: "Yes"

Shenia: "Shaylee, I’m sorry about what I said. Forgive me."

Shaylee: (Smiling slightly) "Of course. We fight like a couple of game cocks, don’t we. But we are sisters, after all. Forget it."

Shenia: (Slyly) "I really went too far this time. I need to make it up to you."

Shaylee: "It’s okay, really."

Shenia: "No its not."

Shaylee: "Here we go again."

Shenia: "No I don’t want to fight. I have something to show you… to give you."

Shaylee: "Really?":

Shenia: "Really. It’s a long way from here though. Come. Let me show you."

(The two of them start walking down the jungle path.)

Scene 3

The setting is the quicksand bog and surrounding jungle. Shenia and Shaylee come into view , still coming down the path, Shenia in the lead.

Shenia: "Come on. Its just a little further." (She stops and waits for Shaylee to come alongside. Then they walk side by side.)

Shaylee: "Where are we going, anyway."

Shenia: "Just another few minutes, you’ll see."

(In another few steps they are by the side of the bog. Shenia suddenly shoves Shaylee sideways into the bog."

Shaylee: "Oh. What’s this? Ugh!…. Oh my, this mud is deep. Did you push me just to get me dirty?"

Shenia: " Sort of."

Shaylee: "What do you mean, sort of?"

Shenia: "I want you to get real muddy. All over. Right to the top of your head."

Shaylee: "You miserable twit. When I get out of here I’m really going to teach you a lesson"

Shenia: "You’re not getting out of there. That’s quicksand you’re in."

Shaylee: "What? Quicksand? No. Shenia. No. Help me." (by now she is up to her shoulders)

Shenia: "I’m not helping you. I’m helping me."

(The rest of the dialogue is ad-libbed as Shaylee gradually sinks under.)

Scene 4

The setting is still at the bog.

Shenia: (Clapping her hands with glee.) "How did you like my little gift Shaylee? I certainly enjoyed giving it to you."

The setting is the quicksand bog. A crude boardwalk has been constructed by Shenia from the shore to a point about six feet out into the bog.

Shenia: (Sets the last plank into place on the boardwalk). "There. Now its ready."

The setting is a small set of fruit-stand stalls in a jungle village. Shenia is standing behind a small table piled with various fruits. Kyla stands behind a similar table. There are several other tables with people selling other things. Several villagers are shopping for various things.

Jena: (Comes over to Shenia’s table and looks over the fruit)."What do you have today, Shenia?"

Shenia: "A littler bit of everything. Redfruit, Carrow Berries, Mallow, Popos."

Jena: "Any Moon Fruit?"

Shenia: "Not yet. Maybe in a few days."

Jena: (Suddenly looking across to Kyla’s table) "Oh, there’s some! Sorry Shenia" (She rushes over to Kyla’s table).

Shenia: "Oooo! What a fair weather friend." Looking angrily at Jena and then very resentfully at Kyla).

Scene 3

The setting is again the set of fruit stands. However, it is the end of the day and the vendors are closing up.

Shenia: (Picks up a very fine looking fruit and turns so as to face away from the other people. She cuts a slip in the fruit and pours in a small quantity of powder). "Okay Kyla, You’ll be sorry you tried to compete with me."

Scene 4

The setting is unchanged.

Kyla: (Taking the fruit). "Why, thank you Shenia. Here, have a Moon Fruit. First of the season."

Shenia: "Thank you." (Taking the fruit).

Scene 5

The setting is a jungle pathway. Shenia is seen walking down the pathway, carrying a small bag of remaining fruit. Suddenly she staggers, as if dizzy or disoriented. She puts the bag down.

Shenia: (Coming up from behind). "Kyla, you look ill."

Kyla: (Turns partly, toward the approaching Shenia). "I…. I… feel a little dizzy…. Oh!" (She starts to fall but is caught by Shenia and lowered to the ground."

Scene 6

The setting is a pathway leading to the quicksand bog. It is night. Kyla has her hands tied behind her back and is being forced to walk through the jungle by Shenia.

Shenia: (Prodding Kyla with a stick and speaking with an altered voice). "Come on…. Keep going."

Kyla: (Sounding very groggy and confused) Who are you? What are you doing? Why are you doing this to me?"

Shenia: "It’ll be all right. You’re just having a bad dream. You’ll wake up soon, don’t worry."

Kyla: "Please, leave me alone."

Scene 7

The setting is the quicksand bog. Kyla is still be forced to walk by Shenia and is still groggy. They are approaching the bog.

Kyla: "Where are we? Am I really dreaming, this seems to real."

Shenia: Prodding her again). "Keep going."

Now they are almost to the end of Shenia’s boardwalk, surrounded by the bog. Shenia comes alongside Kyla and shoves her into the mire.

Kyla: (Looking down at the mire that now surrounds her legs in horror and disbelief). "What…. What is this? Oh, Yuck, its mud."

Shenia (Moves so as to place herself behind a tree where she can watch but not be seen by Kyla. She giggles.

The rest of the scene is a vigorous struggle ending in complete submergence. There is no dialogue except many ad-libbed gasps, screams, exclamations, etc.

Scene 8

Shenia comes out from behind the tree, still staring at the now flat mud surface. "Very nice Kyla. I bet you enjoyed it too… I certainly did."

Rana: (Picking up a piece of fruit admiringly). "Oh, Shenia, you have the best fruit. Ever since Kyla disappeared. Where do you find it?"

Shenia: (Coyly) "Well its supposed to be a secret. If I told you I’d have to kill you."

Rana: (Laughing) "Okay, never mind"

Shenia: (Slyly). "Of course, if you really want to know, and promise not to tell anyone, I could show you. I know you’re not going to try to go into the fruit business."

Rana: "I would like to know where it comes from."

Shenia: "Well. I tell you what. Meet me at the North river trail about an hour after dark. I’ll take you there, but you’ll have to wear a blindfold.for the last few hundred yards."

Rana: "Okay, I’ll be there."

Shenia: "Great" (Then, after Rana walks away) "Yes. Yes Yes."

Scene 2

The setting is still the fruit stand.

Kivi: (Picking up a piece of fruit admiringly). "Oh, Shenia, you have the best fruit. Ever since Kyla disappeared. Where do you find it?"

Shenia: (Coyly) "Well its supposed to be a secret. If I told you I’d have to kill you."

Kivi: (Laughing) "Okay, never mind"

Shenia: (Slyly). "Of course, if you really want to know, and promise not to tell anyone, I could show you. I know you’re not going to try to go into the fruit business."

Kivi: "I would like to know where it comes from."

Shenia: "Well. I tell you what. Meet me at the North river trail about an hour and a half after dark. I’ll take you there, but you’ll have to wear a blindfold.for the last few hundred yards."

Kivi: "Okay, I’ll be there."

Shenia: "Great" (Then, after Rana walks away) "Yes. Yes Yes. Double Yes"

Shenia: "Rana, Come on. Its this way."

Rana: "Coming." (Rana walks down the path toward Shenia, who turns and leads down the path."

Scene 4

The setting is still the path.

Shenia: (Stops and turns). "Its not far, but from here on you’ll have to wear this." (producing a cloth blindfold). "I can’t let you have all my secrets, can I."

Rana: "Okay) (Shenia steps behind Rana and applies the blindfold).

Scene 5

The setting is the quicksand bog.

Shenia: "Turn a little to the left. A little more, that’s right, now straight ahead." (Rana is now on the boardwalk).

Rana: (walking cautiously forward to the end of the boardwalk) "You’re being so mysterious, Shenia. Its like a game you’re playing."

Shenia: "Yes,,, I suppose it is." (As Rana reaches the end of the boardwalk, Shenia suddenly shoves her forward off the end and into the mire.) "A game of cat and mouse."

Rana: "Oh, What? What? Shenia" (she tears off the blindfold) "Ugh! Shenia, What’s this?"

Shenia: "This, why I guess you could say this is my little mouse trap. And you’re my poor, helpless, little mouse."

The rest of the scene is ad-libbed at Rana struggles but sinks deeper and deeper and goes under.

Scene 6

The setting is back at the path – at the same place that Shenia met Rana.

Kivi is standing and waiting. Shenia appears, coming up the path.

Shenia: "Kivi, Come on. Its this way."

Rana: "Coming." (Kivi walks down the path toward Shenia, who turns and leads down the path."

Scene 7

The setting is still the path.

Shenia: (Stops and turns). "Its not far, but from here on you’ll have to wear this." (producing a cloth blindfold). "I can’t let you have all my secrets, can I."

(Shenia now stands on the boardwalk and starts to enjoy watching as Kivi struggles). "You’re the second little mouse of the night too." (Shenia now watches for another few seconds. Suddenly, however, the boardwalk breaks under her weight and she plunges down and toward Kivi through the rotten boards into the mud) "Oh No! No! No! Not me! No. Not yet"

The rest of the scene is a fight between the two girls, with all dialogue ad-libbed. Eventually Kivi is able to climb over Shenia and save herself, forcing Shenia under in the process."

Scene 9

Kivi hauls herself laboriously over the broken boardwalk to save ground and out of the mud. As she wipes mud from her body and catches her breath the gradually goes from wipes the mud off with disgust to rubbing it over herself with subtle, but clear, sensual pleasure. There is no dialogue.

The scene is at the quicksand bog. A rough plank or log has been placed so as to project out over the bog at a height of about 30 inches. A few feet away from the bog, Melia and Kai are tied to two trees. They are not gagged, but their hands are tied behind their backs, their feet are tied together just tightly enough to prevent anything but small steps, and they are blindfolded. Both girls are still asleep from having been drugged, but are just beginning to wake up.

Kai: (groans) "What? Oh!"

Kivi: (Smiling evily) "Ah. So you’re awake."

Kai: "Who’s that? Kivi? Is that you?"

(Kivi smiles with delight but says nothing)

Melia: "Oooooh!" Ouch!"

Kai: "Is that you Melia?"

Melia: "Kai? What’s going on? I can’t move my arms. I can’t see. Where are we."

Kai: "I don’t know. I can’t move either. I think my hands are tied. There’s something over my face."

Kivi: "It’s a blindfold. And yes, you’re hands are tied."

Melia and Kai together: "Why, What’s going on?"

Kivi: "You two are thieves. That’s why you’re tied up."

Melia: "Thieves?"

Kai: "What are you talking about?"

Kivi: "You stole a whole basket of fruit Melia. Everyone knows that."

Melia: "That was five years ago. I was young and stupid."

Kivi: (to Kai) "And you stole my recipe in the cooking contest last year."

Kai: "Kivi, you’re out of your mind. I didn’t steal you’re stupid recipe."

Melia: "So what about the fruit. I admitted what I did. And I gave it all back."

Kivi: "Yes, you gave it back when you got caught. But you were not punished. You got out of trouble because you’re Uncle is chief of a village."

Kai: "So now you’re going to punish us? Kivi, you must be crazy."

Kivi: "Maybe so. But right now I’m calling the shots."

Scene 2

Kivi comes up behind the tree that Melia is tied to. She has a sharpened stick or spear in her hands.

Kivi: "Melia, I’m going to untie you from the tree now. You’re going to get what’s coming to you right now!" (She unties Melia from the tree. Her hands and feet are still tied and she is still blindfolded, however.)

Melia: "Kivi, Come to you’re senses. You don’t know what you’re doing."

Kivi: "I know very well what I’m doing. Its you who doen’t know what I’m doing. Now do exactly as I say. Walk forward three steps."

Melia: "Why should I?"

Kivi: "Because I’ll poke you with this if you don’t." (Jabbing her with the tip of the spear)

Melia: "Ouch!"

Kai: "Leave her alone."

Kivi: (sharply to Kai) "Shut up or it’ll be you’re turn.. (turning back to Melia) Now walk" (Melia takes three steps and stops). "Now turn to your right." (Melia turns). "Take two steps." (Melia takes two steps).

Melia: "Why are you doing this?"

Kivi: "I told you. You have to be punished. Now, right in front of you is a wooden plank. Step onto it." (Melia does not move, so she gets prodded with the spear. She then feels her way onto the plank). "Turn left." (Melia turns to her left).

Melia: "What are you doing to me."

Kivi: "Just what you deserve. You’re going to walk the plank."

Melia: "What do you mean, walk the plank?"

Kai: "Melia, I don’t like the sound of this. She’s insane."

Kivi: "You’re not supposed to like it. If fact, you’re not going to like this at all. Now take a step forward." (Melia takes a small, tentative step forward). "That’s it. Now another." (Melia takes another small step). "One more." (She takes another step). "And another." (She takes another step and is now at the end of the plank). "Now one more It’ll be a little step down.".

Melia: (starts to step forward into space, tries to abort, but falls feet first down into the quicksand) "Ooooh! Yuck! What’s this?"

Kivi: "It’s what you deserve. Its mud. Deep mud. Actually its quicksand."

Melia: "Quicksand?" (She starts to struggle wildly and Kai starts to squirm against her bonds rather desperately.

Kai: "Kivi, No! Don’t do this to her. It isn’t fair."

Kivi: "Don’t worry, Kai…. You’ll get your turn."

Scene 3

A lengthy series of inter cut shots of Melia struggling in the mud, Kai struggling against her ties, and Kivi enjoying the whole thing. Dialogue is ad-libbed groans, screams, gasps, exclamations of fear and disgust, etc.

Scene 4

Melia is now about shoulder deep.

Kivi: "Oh, Kai. How thoughtless of me. I should let you watch." (She comes up to Kai and removes the blindfold.

Kai: (Sees that Melia is mired shoulder deep and completely helpless.) "Melia! Oh Melia"

(Melia is now up to her neck).

Kivi: "Yes! Look Melia. Look at how she squirms around. She’s really having a good time isn’t she."

Kai: "Kivi, What’s the matter with you. Don’t do this. Get her out of there." (Melia is now past her chin).

Melia: "Help! Help me. I can’t move. I can’t breathe. Help! Oh! Oh! Oh! Help me. Please. Please. Oh! Ach! Spth! Glubphgh! (The mud closes over Melia’s mouth.

Kai: "Kivi, do something!"

Kivi: (Almost giggling) "I’ve done everything I’m going to."

Melia’s arms thrash about some more and gradually sink under the surface.

Scene 5

Kivi: (turning her attention from the mire to Kai). "Now. It’s you’re turn." (She moves to behind the tree (carrying her spear) and unties Kai. She immediately steps back with her spear at the ready). "To the plank."

Kai: "You can’t make me. I’m not going to walk you’re plank."

Kivi: "Poking Kai with the spear. Yes you will. You’ll either walk the plank or I’ll stab you with this until you do." (She now jabs at Kai. Kai retreats).

Kivi now uses the spear to prod Kai toward the plank, onto the plank, and out to the end.

Kivi: "Come on, move."

Kai: "Kivi stop."

Kivi: "Move."

Kai: "Don’t do this!"

Kivi: "Keep moving."

Kivi jabs Kai one more time and knocks her off the end of the plank into the quicksand. She goes in rather deeply.

Kai: "Uck! Oh No! Kivi please. No"

Kivi "Yes"

Kai "No!"

Kivi: "I make the rules here, and I said yes."

The rest of the struggle is ad-libbed until Kai goes under.

Scene 6

Kai is still spellbound watching the now smooth surface of the bog. Finally she turns away.

Kai: "Now. Who will get to enjoy my little quagmire next."

The setting is a store room. Containers are being set out on a table in preparation for a meal.

We see one character come into the room, set down several containers, and depart. There is no dialogue to this point. Then we see Kivi come secretively into the room. She opens one container, pours in a small quantity of a powder, closes the container, and departs quickly.

Kivi: (As she closes the container) And now Mina, enjoy your last serving of your favorite wine.

The setting is a simple village. The scene shows Mina sitting on a log eating and drinking from the wine bottle. As she finishes she stands up, staggers slightly but catches herself. Then she walks off rather unsteadily.

The setting is a pathway. Mina staggers down the path. She is intercepted by Kivi, who offers help.

Kivi: (coming up to Mina from behind and taking her arm) "Whoa, Mina, you seem to have had a bit too much wine. Let me help you."

Kivi: "Od dear. It looks like you’ve passed out Mina." (Kivi starts to drag Mina by the arms) "Its too bad you went for a walk in the jungle after getting drunk Mina. The jungle is a dangerous place to be drunk you know."

The setting is the quicksand bog. Kivi rolls Mina into the bog. She regains partial consciousness, but not fully, as she sinks.

The scene consists of a series of inter cut shots as another character (unnamed) sinks from shoulder deep to completely under. Dialogue is absent or ad-libbed.

A lengthy series of inter cut shots of a whole series of characters in the final stages of going under. Both male and female characters may be included here.

The setting is still at the quicksand bog. Kivi rolls Synda into the mire. The regains consciousness somewhat more than Mina in scene 4.

Kivi: "Nothing in particular. It’s just what I do. Its fun. You’re just the latest of many victims"

Synda: "No! You’re crazy. Don’t do this. Please. Help me! Help me! Help! No! Somebody! Somebody help me! No, No No!"

Kivi: "That’s it! Scream and struggle. I like that! Scream some more Synda. Hurry, Scream again before you go under!"

Synda: (now only seconds from going under) "Kivi, you’re crazy…. But one of these days someone will get away from you and then this will happen to you."

Kivi: (watches in silence as Synda goes under. Then she responds to Synda’s last words.) "Yes I think that probably will happen…. And I think I might not really mind when it does. I might not mind at all."

Bria, Kivi’s latest victim, wakes up just before being pushed into the quicksand. Kivi is pushed in instead and goes under. As she sinks she behaves as though she expected and even wanted to eventually go under herself. Now Bria has the bug.

A side shot as Kivi drags Bria by the arms. Then a face shot of Bria. Her eyes open and look around. Her eyes go wide. A view of the bog to reveal what Bria has seen. A face shot of Kivi looking toward the bog (and away from Bria). Next, a face shot of Bria as she closes her eyes, and finally a face shot of Kivi turning back to look down at Bria.

Kivi stops dragging Bria, who seems to be regaining consciousness but appears still groggy, and starts to stand her up in position to be pushed into the bog.

Kivi: "Now Bria, enjoy this" (Kivi starts to push Bria. However, Bria suddenly turns, grabs Kivi, and throws her sideways into the quicksand Kivi plunges in to her chest) "No!"

Bria: "You drugged me, didn’t you?" (Kivi does not really respond to Bria, as she is entirely absorbed in her situation. At first she is surprised and shocked – looking down and staring at the quicksand, mouth open in disbelief. Then she begins to enjoy what is happening to her. She struggles to stay afloat but at the same time acts as though she is enjoying being pulled down. Eventually she goes under.)

A protracted series of inter cut shots of Bria staring at Kivi as she sinks and then at the mud itself the mud, and the mud, still churning as Kivi struggles just under the surface. As subtly as possible, Bria shows excitement at the sight of Kivi going under.
