Dad is sitting in the loungeroom, holding a very small portion of this year's supply of macadamia nuts. An Australian native, the nuts are very delicious, and incredibly hard to crack. Our tree provides both more nuts than we can use, and more than we have time to crack, though it's a job Trevor likes doing. On the table you may also spot fruit picked fresh this morning for Christmas breakfast and lunch - bananas, peaches, plums, brambleberries, grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes and tangelos. Dad used the citrus to make us a drink that was delicious, if pretty mouth-puckering. Of course, the main course of breakfast for some of us, as every Christmas, was lollies. After the presents were unwrapped we had a more "real" breakfast - pancakes.
