PUPPY LOVE
Written by Rusty Marshall
3/8/81

He runs through the fields
his pup by his side,
he plays all day long
his pup will abide.

He comes into eat
puppy by the door,
when he does return
pups ready for more.

I think I have seen
nothing so complete,
as a puppy's love
for his boy elite.

Puppies always grow
and become big dogs,
little boys do age
and forget about frogs.

The dog's heart retains
a love for his boy,
many years of love
those moments of joy.

Time becomes so sad
puppy's old best friend,
has fallen in love
no more time to lend.

The puppy goes on
his life not so fun,
he longs for his boy
he's the only one.

Alas, it's over
girls are, oh so cruel,
the dog still loves him
it's a natural rule.
