Where is the Krebs Cycle found?
The Krebs cycle is found in the mitochondria. It occurs within the cristae and matrix. The cristae is the part of the mitochondria that looks like a maze, which contains the enzymes, needed to complete the cycle. The matrix is the space in between the cristae. The mitochondria is an organelle found in animal and plant cells. There are many mitochondria in animal tissues because they require a lot of energy. The mitochondria is largely needed in the brain because of all of the oxygen it consumes.
