The wooden dishes called "Scheibe" painted with real and allegorical scenes are part of our tradition in Trentino and South Tyrol. Even in the seventeenth century the dishes were used as targets, but painted and decorated they became the prize in the competition, organised to remember some special occasion in the community. From here the name Festscheiben or Scheibenschiessen. Each Festscheibe dish carried an iscription, the date and place, and the event to be remembered , remaining as a memento of a happy day in other times.
