Winters in Paris can be pretty tough, especially for artists just getting their start. Everett Shinn (1873-1953)
lived there for a year, upon his return, he met Mark Twain and drew a portrait of him. He was a member of the
"Imortal eight", who were all social realists, and, whose work was rejected by the National Academy of Design.
They established their own independant show that was a great sucess.
