Title: The Apparition Of Me
Writer: Annie Lehberg - Visit Me

A calling from my soul is heard
in the howling winds of an evening storm

in the flashes of lightening there stands in stillness,
a silhouette,

the only movement is her white gown
flowing around her legs,
her brown tresses shrouding her face

strange, she is fashioned like me, a slender form,
the green glow that shoots from her eyes
is like that of a cat, in the dark

she seems to be crying

could that be the sound I have heard? the voice in the wind?
is it the sound of her distress, her pining?

as suddenly as the branches scratch upon the window,
I feel a nearness of this apparition,
yet as lightening strikes
I see that she has not shifted in her standing

capricious, I am drawn to her

why...who is she...what does she want of me?

she seems to be beckoning…implying...I follow...
though frightened, I am calm

with her delicate hand extended
I see my own, I reach and feel it's warmth

startled by her realness,
I am compelled to move ever closer...
and with a feeling of peace, I find…my soul...
