Title: One More Hour
Writer: George W. Knox

Sitting alone sharing company with silence
wandering the highway of my mind
many paths determining my fate
every road a crossroad,
no direction, no bearing.

In meditation I see you
a beacon of light
giving guidance.
I had seen you many times before
yet lost to me in life’s haste.

Beautiful eyes possess me
drawing me helpless to your charm.
Our kisses are a summer breeze
slowly drifting through our senses
gentle, warm, irresistible.

We touch, hold, passion so addictive
love encompasses our souls.
Every hour together spirited away
time mercilessly stealing our moment
leaving us begging for more

Your eyes communicated many secrets
I gently stroked your hair.
whispering I love you
my whole being rejoiced
as you told me you love me too.

You were to me so many answers
yet I understood not the questions.
A burden of fear began to hold you
Who was I to dispute that you deserve
so much better than I.

Love bestowed you upon me
a woman so wonderful, beautiful, caring, intelligent
the ogre of circumstance took you away
thrusting me back onto the highway of my mind
searching for solutions that do not exist.

Intimate memories age, weaving into time
affectionate experiences relying on dreams.
Although your passions are so far away
I still kiss you gently at night
wake with you cradled to my breast.

Oh darling, please deliver me from dreams
bring me back to reality one more time
and let me trade the remainder of my days
for one more hour
in your arms.
