Title: Remember
Writer: Rod Morris

If only all men could look back on youthful days of life,
And recall when first they met the girl who'd be their wife.
Those romantic nights, the lonely days, when you hated to be apart.
Those little things you couldn’t say, but kept locked in your heart.

Remember the day you were married, she came gliding down the aisle.
You turned and looked at her sweet face, her happy radiant smile.
The exchanged vows, the wedding rings, the inner warmth you feel.
You lift her veil, you kiss her lips, can this be really real?

The time flies by and looking back, you’ve farewelled forty years
You’ve lived through kids, the mortgages, the happiness and tears.
Grankids, now grown, have bought such life and laughter.
What else as parents could we want, what else would we be after?

And now as you grow older look back at what has passed.
Think of your life together, the love you new would last.
Feel fulfilled in your old age, never court dissent.
And love her now as you did then, you’ll always be content.
