Title: The Letter
Author: Shelagh Stevens
Twaz a bright summers eve and she walked with grace,by the silver stream,
Where the weeping willow hung its head,
A saddened look on her pretty young face,
As out of her pocket a letter she read.
My sweetheart, let not your tears wash me away,
I want to live forever in your eyes,
Look not to the heavens or the darkness of your lonely nights,
Look to your heart its there my love lies.
I will live on in the love you freely gave me,
That would calm a raging river, stormy sea,
I will live on in your beauty and disires,
My darling please live on for me.
My love for you i have taken with me, where angels sing and music fill tha air
For all eternity i wait here for you,
And one day we'll meet on heavens golden stair.
Twaz a bright summers eve and she sits to rest,
Holding the letter close to her breast,
Through glistening tears and she paused to stare, for her lover who was standing there,
She reaches out and takes his hand,
They both walk towards the silver stream,
Beneath the stillness of the waters,
She slowly fades as in a dream.
Twaz a bright summers eve and she walks with grace,
With her lover by her side to a heavenly place.
