Founded in the principles of Thomas Jefferson's academic village at University of Virginia, this project brings visiting scholars and students together in a residential setting. It serves as a model of what an ideal university community may be. Interaction between students and mentors is the driving design consideration. This pedestrian oriented community consists of one and two bedroom apartments for students, and larger units allowing for small group congregation housing the visiting scholars. Outdoor spaces are divided into private rooftop decks, semi- private community avenues, and pedestrian thruways.
