Burn....................... (for Shanelle)

Burning hot
Desert calls me
Scorched white sand
Parched green shrubs
Dunes hot
on the horizon
Flatland
here and
Sun
noon-high overhead

I want to feel
the heat on my bare
back and shoulders
Blazing hot
Burning me

Burn

Burn into me sun
Burn away the past
Sear the wounds of my flesh with your curative fire
Let me bask in your hot rays
until all this
lust for life
in cities seeking out
the smokefilled lounges
on dark streets
amid boozy smells
of chaos where women
reveal their fleshy delights
...
inviting touching
but no
don't touch me
and
oh
I want to just
burn

Burn away

Burn these images
from my soul
Sun
Blazing sun
Send your beams to pierce my skin
like red-hot lances
singeing muscle
Make the feelings stop

Please

Please
Burn me
in the desert
