Interesting that you should like Bach. His music is used in a technique of second language instruction developed by Georgi Lozanov, a Bulgarian psychotherapist. It's called Suggestopedia and has been developed in Eastern

Favorite story?: My favorite story of yours, Avital, is 'The Old Cinema'. If I take the rest of humanity into account...hmm...Maybe 'For Esmé With Love and S

Your favorite books?: Oh my. This is an impossible question. It's like asking 'what's your favorite time to have sex?' Let's see, a few that are in your list are in mine as well, and we must exclude Shakespeare because that goes without saying.
There's everything by Nabokov, of course, and everything by Primo Levi, and then there's Twain, and Dumas for pure swashbuckling and...I really do have to stop.
Your favorite music?: This is just as bad as the previous question. I'll say this - my two favorite composers of music from this century may be Prokofiev and Jimmy Page.
Your favorite movies?: Will this get easier? Umm, most things by Jean Renoir, Everything by the Marx Brothers, then there's FFC, of course (you never know who's whatching...)
Your interests?: Sex, aviation, physics, writing, sex, guitar, piano, flute, drums, sex, bass, tickleasaurus (game invented by my sons), reading great vast quantities, and sex.

Avital:
I read all your stories on your web page. At first, I was reading them, judging them individually on how they appealed to me, their implications and creativity, and for their appeal (perhaps) to a print market (though I admit being no expert i that feild). On approaching completion of the stories--I read them in order--I discovered that I was reading a necklace of stories. One worn and fingered by an woman who is intense, poetic, sensual, and, at times, wanten of emotional/creative gratifica ion. I found myself thinking not only as a critic of literature, but as a voyeur into a women's life. I have never trusted my judgements about people, even from their admissions, and especially never from their writing, so I will refrain from an attempt to explain you, and stick only to the impression your writing made on me.
Individually, I felt that there were only a few stories that could stand on their own as complete works: Bach Over Water, Somewhere Station, Major Chaos, Second Thoughts, and mayb Frame. The rest, I found to be eliptical and vague (I confess I only read those stories once. Vagueness can repel me.)
If I had to choose a favorite, it would be Somewhere Station, though the title still confuses me. I feel that it embodies what I f und to be the sense of fantasy, and dream-like adventure and impetuousness that the colection has. The glider in My Way could be the perfect symbol of the free and sensuos journey the stories provide as a whole. Even "You Gotta Do it" is a message for t ose afraid to live outside themselves, and focuses on the texuality of desire.
If I were to market this collection, and I think you should try it (I will search some feminist lit journals for you) I would make the corner story of the collection "Frame". The reason I say this is because something struck me about the possibility of a frame being the perfect metaphoric vehicle.
Consider a story as a view through a window; you see the picture/text the writer has created, and add to it your life experie ces, making it complete, a story. The pane of glass is unobtrusive, and does not effect your view. Suppose a bird shits on the glass--suddenly the writers creative vehicle is visible, and not only is the view important, but the process. (The bird shit i not important, only the recognition of process and its importance to the final product, like strokes on a painting). All this is held together by the frame--the life experiences of the reader, of the writer, who become co-creators, and who, as a team, f rm a constant. (ie--if a different person looks through the window, it becomes a different view/story).
Anthologized writers are so acutely aware of the implications of their work. Years of analysis could not explain completely the intent and implicati ns and inspiration of some of the world's greatest work (Ulysses comes to mind). Perhaps you are aware of the direction your writing has taken as a collection. I say this because I was not aware of the direction of mine until I stood back from it and an lized it (with the help of a freind). I really admire your style. It is poetic in its brevity, and captures very human emotions in an eliptical and sensuous fashion. I would persue a publisher. If you can afford to self-publish a booklet, a few hundre copies, perhaps that is an idea too. It is work worth deseminating.
Hope this helps.
Larry
