IT'S TIME TO DECIDE
Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:00 in the Community Room
As most of you are by now aware, the recent victories by the PCGTA have led the landlords of the Piano Factory to change their strategy from one of confrontation, to one of negotiation. To that end they have hired the services of a well known Boston lawyer to act as their representative in the negotiations with our tenants union. For our part, we have elected a group of tenants representing all income levels of this building who, in concert with our legal team and our development consultant, will act as the representatives for the members of our tenant union in these negotiations. These negotiations are scheduled to begin within the next few weeks. The positions taken by our negotiating team are up to you.
These positions will be decided at this general meeting. We have outlined several key "concepts" of a settlement, which will be presented at this meeting. All members will have the opportunity to discuss these concepts and air their views, and ask questions. We need the feedback of this entire community in order to faithfully represent you in these negotiations. All of our efforts of the past eighteen months have been aimed at this point.
In order to partake in the settlement, once one is achieved, you must be a member of the tenants union, and be current in your dues - non-members and those not up to date with their dues will not participate in any settlement benefits.
This meeting will be open only to members of the PCGTA, and will be extremely confidential.
Your attendance at this meeting is as much desired, as it is required. There will be no other items on the agenda at this meeting.
Many of you have not attended recent tenants meetings, perhaps because you thought there were no pressing issues that deserved your attention. Make no mistake about it - this meeting deserves your complete attention.
Against formidable odds, we've made it thus far. Now it's time to take this thing home. Join us Tues. June 3rd at 7:00pm in the Community Room. See you there. Thank you.
