In college, I was fortunate enough to have jobs with media and publications that let me get photo angles of feild action that average spectators couldn't. The cheerleaders were an exciting part of sports action. They're outside of the  action, a periphrial part of the show. It was always more fun to watch them and see the behind the scenes happenings that we spectators rarely see.
