Yes I actually have some. My page was looking rather clinical so I decided to add some personal stuff. Unfortunately space (and apathy) doesn't permit listing all my internet friends, especially since friendships made over the net are so changeable and weak without real contact. Also, don't get worried about anything that seems weird here, I think I was a bit drunk when I wrote it. Let's see, who shall I start with...
Well Dave of course considering he is my oldest friend. I have known him for as long as I can remember and we have many stories... mostly involving fire actually. He was always the boy who lived on the corner two houses away but now he's moved so I only see him in the hols. Which is not such a bad thing. Too much David Green is very detrimental to one's heatlh. If I invite him over I get little sleep, not because we stay up talking, but because HE SNORES HIS BLOODY HEAD OFF! I would also like to keep my eyebrows unsinged and keep myself sober and straight most of the time.
Then of course there's John.. or "little Johnny from down the road" Dave, him and I made a deadly trio. From turning a simple game of GI Joe into full scale destruction of Dave's mother's garden (through flooding) to burning anything we can get our hands and lighters on. Unfortunately for me, little Johhny aint so little anymore. He's only a few inches shorter than me and can now whip my ass at sumo wrestling. He's a rower and he works out. But I can still ride my bike faster than him. He still lives down the road and comes up to visit sporadically at his whim.
After that there's Alex, who I met in first grade. I still have a memory of holding a SHARP pencil upright under him as he sat down next to me in class... now THAT pissed him off. He's always been an invaluable source of techno information but he still goes to more parties than me... and gets more pissed. He's an all round good bloke. For some reason neither of us can really remember we didn't speak to each other from 3rd grade to 6th grade. Probably cos he moved schools. It seems recently every holidays he has tried to give me a social life, but one day he'll learn. I don't want to belong to a social group. I pick my friends a few from everywhere as you'll see. Anyway, now that Alex has done his SCUBA diving course too it looks like we'll be diving together aswell.
Who's next... probably Phil if we're doing this in chronological order. I met Phil in 7th grade and we had great fun at each other's houses with lego technic. I remember we both got an impo in history for passing pointless notes to each other. He is a major pyro and has his own page devoted to it, amoungst other things. I have had much fun on the train on the way home, especially that memorable day after Air Cadets when we crushed cheesels all over an unprotesting Nick Kerr. He was feeling a little under the weather so he just sat there and let us do it. I feel rather guilty about it still. Especially the way we filled his slouch hat with cheesels and coke and jumped up and down on it. Oh dear. Unfortunately I don't always get along well with him seeing as he's very fascist and I'm very communist.
Then there's Tom, who I get along better with because he is communist too. I also met him in 7th grade and I talk to him frequently on ICQ. He and I can scare the pants off anyone else we're talking to merely through extreme weirdness and illogicality. Aparantly we're "hilarious" to watch in action. His Dad is a minister and a cool bloke. I was involved in the christmas play at the church this year. It was written by Tom and VERY weird. Mary, Jesus or Joseph DO NOT APPEAR! I got to play the inkeeper and Mr Sly, a character not in the traditional story. I remember one time when he, Marc, and I all pulled up a pew (literally) in the church and watched Star Wars SE on a big screen projector. It is HARD to sleep on a church pew, but Marc managed it. And missed the end of Return of the Jedi!
I met Marc in 7th grade aswell. He is from a stereotypical Jewish family, but is not religious. He has a brown afro and has been likened to a sheep many times. He is a capitalist *tsk tsk tsk* and a cynic AND he believes in "free will" which is the source of endless arguments with him. I have good memories of sitting at his house building lego castles... last year (so I like lego!). He is a good mate to sing with on the train. Together we can clear carraiges with our Mamas and Papas, Simon and Garfunkel, and Beatles. He Gerald and Daz are all debaters at school. I'm the odd one out.
Gerald was another one I met in 7th grade. He is a Doors fan like me, actually he put me ON to Doors. He also loves Dylan but I never caught on to that. I do own a few Dylan CDs. He consistently comes second or third in the year every year. He is a great friend to sit next to in Maths at the back and make sarcastic comments about the content of the course or the teacher's bad hair day. We nevertheless always manage to find ourselves in the top maths class, despite the fact that most of our exercises involve merely copying the answers out of the back of the book, which is MARGINALLY faster than actually doing the problems. Together we tracked the progress of the pigeons nesting outside our maths room until they finally learnt to fly.
Daz is a NERD. He wears glasses and studies a lot. But I'll forgive him. He is also a video game addict (Street Fighter vs X Men) and a CAPITALIST PIG but I'll forgive him there too... because he lets me copy his Latin homework. He is the dux of the year EVERY year and an excellent debater. If he'd only see the light and give up his selfish capitalist attitudes. I think the problem is he ALSO believes in some weird thing called "free will" which makes capitalism more attractive to him. He, along with Gerald, is a source of knowledge of things arcane (musicology, chemistry, latin, maths...most other subjects). He has a homepage.
I met Lisa in the summer holidays (97/98) through Alex (above). Though she is unfortunately short, to put it semi-nicely, she has a big heart, on occasion nauseatingly so. If you want sensitivity and sensibility, and very bad grammar to boot, Lisa's your girl. This makes her sound rather boring... I'd really like to say she is, merely because I'm that sort of person, but she isn't. She's quite fun to talk to and has the ability to get very high without the aid of drugs, though sugar helps. Had a brief fling with her but that died pretty fast and we're good friends. I did her homepage for her so visit it and admire the corrected grammar.
Lisa introduced me to Elly at her house one night and she provided the perfect antidote. She is cynical, very tall, and has the ability to form full sentences. I fixed up her homepage to a working state, which wasn't that easy. Don't tell anyone, but I think she has a crush on me. She's a christian *HISS* but I'll forgive her. Ok.. that's all for Elly.
Well, last but not least is Kirstyn. (sorry to put you at the end but it IS in chronological order!) She's my girlfriend right now and a cutie. She has a homepage. Despite being the great conversationalist I am, I still manage to talk to her for hours and really piss off my parents... and her parents too probably. She also wants to be a journalist and I think she will merely based on the huge amount she writes not to mention the quality of it. The most memorable incident with her so far was asking her out 2 days after I met her. This really annoyed Tom who was the one who introduced me to her. Anyway, he invited me into this chat containing Kirstyn and himself. I introduced myself by chanting Darkwing Duck and being generally weird with Tom who was pretending to be possessed (as usual). I then found out that this "Tiny" was an interesting person in her own right and started talking to her. The best thing about Kirstyn is that she's agreed to watch all of Star Wars with me, and probably will have by the time anyone reads this (Monday the 19th of Jan 98). Ok, it's now the 6th of July, and Kirstyn has successfully evaded all attempts to watch it. We just had our 6 month anniversary on the 4th, she bought me a goldfish *grin*.
Oh well, you managed to read all that, the least I can do is link you back to my homepage.
