You find yourself irrisistably drawn to the notepad that you can see on the table. Just as you pick it up, Ellie reappears in the doorway, carrying a tray with coffee, biscuits, milk and sugar.

"You can have tea if you'd rather..." She trails off as she sees what you're holding. "Ah." Suddenly she looks a little embarassed. "That's my brother's notepad, with some of his poetry in. Feel free to read it, but be warned, it's a little depressing." I've got some of my stuff around here too. I write stories, general and about a pair called Matthew and Rosie, and short paragraph things. Take your pick..."

You stop to consider the options, and while doing so (being a polite kind of person), you reassure Ellie that coffee is just fine.

If you don't like coffee, just add lots of milk and sugar, to disguise the taste. :)

And if you decide you're just not in a literary mood, feel free to put the notebook down.
