The Loyal
It chokes it burns
My eyes water
And my stomach turns
The mind so strong
Goes not as long
And thought becomes cloudy
It reaches deep
And blackens sleep
For of this there can be none
Those that suffer most
Do not start this deadly ghost
It their friends
Their sons
Their daughters
That suffer from this cloud
As they watch
They see you fade
But not from sight
All to bright
We watch as we sicken
Love so strong to form a bond
To hold us to the dying
To flirt with death
From a cylindrical bomb
We stay and watch in horror
As they blacken lungs
Once so bright
And help us do the same
With coughs and chokes
The new comer hopes
That this will soon be over
That smoke no more
Will clog his pore
And the smoke will vanish
But this above all
Is the pal
Of all that stay so loyal
For the smoke to stop
Means also that
There is one less maker
And those that were loyal
Weep and toil
And hope they are not next
For the smoke inhaled
Might not fail
To send them to their makers
And then for nought
Can resolution be sought
For those loyal claimed
Their time has come
So soon for some
And all because they cared
If there was no love
Then there would be no
Deaths among the loyal
The makers kill themselves
And their victims as well
Must be pulled into their explosive defeat
They did no crime
But they did the time
With cancer as
The warden
He locked the door
And then no more was there hope
For in the window
Flew man's prodigy
So majestically above
And filled the chamber
Choked the stranger
Who once had friends
Or maybe relatives
Who exist no more
But sentenced the loyal
To breath the smoke
They left behind
And smoke spelled
A word as it floated
And filled the room
And the word expanded
To become a phrase
Which reads
Death to the loyal
