Scripture - update revelations

I will first of all give you the scriptures I will be dealing with, then I will go into each of them and tell you why the Lord showed me this scripture and why He had me include it. Though I'll probably let the scripture speak for itself more than anything else. Though I will reveal anything about a scripture that God revealed to me.

Galatians 5:13
Ecclesiastes 12:14
1 Corinthians 1:23
Isaiah 29:16
James 1:26
Proverbs 6:25

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)

I believe that God showed me this one because it is something that has been in my (and someone special to me's) heart. The moral degradation in this country is amazing, how far we've gone from the strong foundation upon which this nation was founded. We've turned from God and gone out in search of wealth, power, and even acceptance by the world.

I believe that we, American Christians, MUST wake up and start to make a difference in this country before it goes all the way down the drain that it is heading straight for now. We must GET involved somehow, even if it simply by praying...

For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

I think God shot me with scripture mainly because there were some "secret" sins that I had within, or that I was involved that no one knew about. This scripture hit me hard, just remembering that CHRIST will judge EVERY work.

Remember, nothing is hid from God. He sees everything. Those sins you hide, or do only in private. He sees them and will judge you for them. The only way to escape the judgement you are deserving is through the blood of Christ. Through His blood He can cleanse you and forgive you.. if you are willing to turn from you wicked ways and give Him your life.

but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness. (1 Corinthians 1:23)

I had to think and pray hard before I really figured out why God wanted me to include this one. And I think that there is someone who's gonna read this who needs to hear this:

We have got to remember that the words we use and the concepts we, as Christians, have so easily digested and use, are nothing but foolishness to the unsaved. We need to use language that the "unspiritual" can understand as easily as someone well versed in the Bible. If we don't, I'm afraid our efforts will be wasted and will come to no end.

You turn {things} around! Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay, that what is made should say to it's maker, "He did not make me"; or what is formed say to him who formed it, "He has no understanding"? (Isaiah 29:16)

Where is this country's reverance for God?? Why do so many denounce God?? How can we, as His creation, look at Him and say "You didn't make me!" (evolution), "You don't exist!" (athieism & satanism), "You're just like me - except You're exalted" (mormonism), or just plain live out life after salvation as if no change was made...

(a quote that explains that last statement is from dc Talk's album "Jesus Freak" at the beginning of the song "What If I stumble?")
"The greatest single cause of athiesm is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle."

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he decieves himself and his religion is worthless. (James 1:26)

This is another one that smacked me in the face. It is a problem I often find myself struggling with. Controlling what I say... I have a problem sometimes with anger or with just insulting someone (especially my little sisters.. ;-) ). This is, once again, telling me how little I am worth if I cannot learn to control what I say.

Remember, watch what you say.

Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes. (Proverbs 6:25)

I had this scripture up in my locker last year when I was in high school. It is an awesome scripture to memorize and quote during a time of temptation. Especially for guys, as you guys know, we struggle with sexual temptation and frustration a lot. This is one area in which many fall short and one we must be careful to watch. This scripture will help you run from temptation, I know, I've done it a few times.
