1 Endanger, put at risk, expose to the chance of injury or loss. 2 Venture on; accept the chance of (a thing, doing).
"Choose." Mina held her two closed fists in front of her.
"What am I choosing?" David asked, warily.
"For your sake, I hope it's a marble. I told you you'd get a chance to come tonight."
"And if I choose wrong?"
Mina laughed. "Well, then you have to wait a week. At least. Maybe more, depends on how I feel."
"That's hardly fair."
"What makes you think I have to be fair? You're the one tied to the wall."
David considered this. "How do I know you actually have a marble in there?"
Mina chuckled again. "Oh, you'll know all right. Believe me, if you guess wrong, I'm going to make a big deal out of showing you the marble you missed."
David had to admit she had a point. Besides, she looked so fetching in that translucent black stocking....He licked his lips. "Do I have to choose?"
"No, of course not. I won't let you come tonight, but I won't make you wait a week, either."
"How long?"
"Sheesh, do I have to tell you everything? That's my secret." She kissed him. "It's been a few days, hasn't it? Don't even think for a minute that that was an accident. I want you primed for this. Now," she concluded, whispering hotly into his ear, "choose."
David looked down at her hands. No clue there. He knew he ought to just back down, and take the sure thing, but then again, her tongue was so hot...
"Left."
Mina only cocked her head, and smiled.
