Of Mice And Men

      Funny that mice shall hear
      Those things that are dear
      To the human ear.

      And most men cannot
      In some ways for nought
      That they hear a lot.

Like when the bells did toll
      Who had heard it all
      But the mice at stroll.

      And when the crickets sang
      There was not one gang
      Who had heard them rang.

But when a coin did drop
      In a little shop
      All had come to stop.

      Funny thing is often
      We only listen
      To things that glisten.
