The Three Bears and The Homeless Girl
Once upon a time three bears lived in a condo in the woods.
Their names were Bertha Bear, Barry Bear, and Bobby Bear (but everyone
called him Baby).
On this seemingly ordinary morning an argument over
breakfast changed their lives. Bertha had just microwaved some
porridge. After she set the steaming bowls on the table she didn't
have to wait long for the usual complaints.
" Bertha, this porridge is too hot ! "
" Mom ! This porridge has lumps in it ! I hate lumps ! "
" Well ! My porridge has gotten cold while catering to you
two ! I'm sick of it ! Tomorrow cook your own Damn breakfast ! "
" Bertha, honey calm down . Why don't we go have breakfast at the
Foodcourt in the mall. "
" Well... I guess so. "
Bobby tugged on Barry's Hand " Dad while we're their can I get
a Gameboy? Please ! "
" We'll see. "
The Bears drove of in their mini-van, their porridge lay
forgotten on the kitchen table.
Just then a young girl wandering in the woods saw the Bears
condo in the distance. The girl, who hadn't eaten in two days, was
drawn to the condo by the scent of the porridge.
The girl was very pale where she was not dirty. The clothes
she wore were little more than tattered rags that fluttered about her
in the faint breeze . The girl's name was Goldie Locks, but as her
limp hair hardly looked gold, the town's children gave her a
nickname... Moldy Locks.
She went up the stairs and knocked on the door, intending to ask
for food. When no one answered the door, she tried turn the knob. She
was surprised when the door gave easily. She entered the house
timidly, expecting to be driven away by the homeowners. When five
minutes passes and no angry shouts issued from the house's interior,
she began to relax and take in her surroundings. The first thing she
noticed was the bowls of porridge sitting on the table. She ate the
contents of each bowl, and Baby's bowl itself. Next she ate most of
the contents of the fringe, except for the rice cakes, she'd never
been THAT hungry.
After her binge she decide she needed to take a bath, so she
went to find the bathroom, which she found with little trouble. The
first thing she did was to start filling the tub. Next she added
bubble bath and undressed. She got in the tub, leaving the water on.
She was very comfortable in the water, and soon fell a sleep. An hour
later she woke up, and found to her horror, that the bathroom was
submerged in three inches of water and soap bubbles. She jumped out of
the tub, and opening the door, sending a cascade of soapy water down
the stairs. It vaguely reminded her of a water fall she had once seen.
She shrugged her shoulders and set of to find some decent clothes.
First she went to the closet in the master bed, but Bertha's clothes
were much to large. She ignored Barry's as they were even larger. It
was in Bobby's bedroom ,that she finally found some clothes that fit.
Goldie wondered just who these incredibly large people were. She
decided that the easiest way to find out would be to find some
pictures of the family. She began her search in the master bedroom.
While she found many unusual things in their dresser drawers, she
didn't find any pictures. She found a picture album in the spare
bedroom. She opened it and was astounded that the home was inhabited
by bears!
She decided that as a human, she could ,with little effort,
over come the dumb bears. As she hunted for a shot gun, she began to
formulate a plan to ambush the Bears.
A month later Goldie Locks sat in the condo watching a
football game between the Bears an the Jets ( the Jets were
wining), on the big screen T.V. that she had recently bought ( Who
knew that bear meat was worth so much ? ) . Her feet rested
comfortably on a bearskin rug (that used to be Bertha!) . She smiled
as she looked up at the bear's (Barry's) head she mounted on the wall.
What happened to Baby, you wonder ? He was sold for a small fortune
to the Santiago zoo.
