CALL FOR PAPERS

Proposals Due: October 15, 2000

We invite submissions to an open forum of ideas and methods in the teaching of literature.

Possible topics:

• genre
• period
• seminars
• survey classes
• technology
• translated texts
• foreign language
• teaching majors or non-majors
• theory
• teaching a thematically-based literature course
• teaching literature at different types of institutions using film, music, visual arts, or non-literary texts
• graduate student training for teaching literature
• teaching literature in humanities departments

Submit a paper, two-page abstract or proposal for a panel, presentation, 10- to 15-minute class, workshop, roundtable, or other creative method for modeling effective teaching practices.
