11/17/99. I'm surprised a fans' union hasn't sprung up in all the years of pro sports. Fans grumble about high ticket prices and jaw-dropping player salaries, but do little more than cancel their season tickets. Owners and players have their own organizations looking out for number one. The millions of fans who are their source of revenue have no organization. You can bet wealthy owners and players like it that way, while kissing up to "our great fans". Art by Simantel All art work Copyright © 1999, Harlan Simantel |
