CEREBRAL FOCUS

What would it be like
to be a book in your hands
a strong compelling passage
of prose something bright
and clear your every sense

engaged a plan with promise
a new fly rod or the perfect
creature that will surface
a trout something you seek
a sequence of thought

so seductive so elegant
one could not fail to act upon it
a mantra a meditation a
ski slope with perfect powder
or some new device that's

quick and lean a desire
that haunts you a new
idea or thing of beauty
turned over and over in your
hands examined and fluid
polished and polished
until it gleams.
