Quilt Designs in the Works
Part II
Self-Portrait as Insect...BugsMa BugsMa Dancing BugsMa Sings
This may seem a little weird (well, it is). The challenge was to do something in colors I don't particularly like about a subject I don't particularly like either...Although not "quilt-i-fied" yet, these look fascinating, workable, and (somewhat) humorous. Who knows? Maybe I'll get over my insectiphobia!
Starladies
This idea is based on the Russian dancers with elaborate headdresses with a bow to Busby Berkley in the process. Each of the sections of the star is balanced on the head of a lad in a black dress (see the outline of their aprons?). Obviously, the finished product will not be so complex, and with increase in size, the little green ladies on the white points will also be visible. The ladies will have some embroidered facial features, too.
Water Lady
This one, too, will be less complex, the center figure is looking down and creating the
seas between her hands (still obscured until I know how I'm going to do it).
I have noticed something, oddly enough, I design with a southwestern motif in many ways...I didn't know that about me...
