A Rest

Today the northern winds blow bringing with them a coolness which hugs the ground beneath a blanket of bluish-grey clouds, clouds which seem so so close I could almost reach up and run my hands through them...their mist moistening my palm. It is as if the sky wants to lie with the soil today.... snuggling close.... perhaps taking a day off, gathering some warmth, resting a bit until returning once again high into the heavens....spreading wings from horizon to horizon.

There is calmness, the water neither ripples nor waves and the birds sit quietly as if putting aside their expectations of sunshine so that the sky might have the space and freedom to approach as needed. The plants continue to grow and the spring wildflowers blossoms appear at times to entice the clouds lower...drawing them nearer with their smiles of care and soothing colours. It is a splendid moment of offering.... for the energy flow is back to the sky. I think the soil and the sky are truly friends. I could not but help notice just how quiet it was.... the wind felt but not heard, few songs if any from the trees.... perhaps they knew quietness was needed so that the soil's warmth could whisper softly to the feathery clouds. Perhaps they understood..... even the soil and the clouds need to snuggle up sometimes.

If you watch closely, you will see..... these two lovers of magnficient beauty and creation..... snuggle up often, resting, later to dance and play... laugh and smile... grow and carry on.
