Farmisto acxetis kvar azenojn cxe foiro. Li surigxis unu, kaj komencis rajdi al hejmo. Dum la vojagxo, li fiere nombris la azenojn cirkaux si: unu, du, tri...tri!? (Li ne nombris la azeno sur li rajdis.) Li denove nombris la azenojn: unu, du, tri! Li ne komprenis kio okazis al la kvara azeno, sed li rajdadis.
Kiam li venis lian hejmon, li diris lian edizinon, "Mi matene axcetis kvar belajn azenojn cxe la foiro, sed nun mi trovas nur tri." Lia edzino rigardis lin, kaj sxi miris. Sxi diris lin, "Strange! Vi vidas tri azenojn, sed mi vidas kvin!" |
A farmer bought four donkeys at a fair. He mounted on and started to ride home. On the way, he proudly counted the donkeys around him: one, two, three...three!? (He didn't count the donkey he was riding.) Again he counted the donkeys: one, to three! He didn't understand what had happened to he fourth donkey, but he rode on.
When he got home, he told his wife, "I bought four beautiful donkeys at the fair this morning, but now I can find only three." His wife stared at him in amazement. She told him, "How strange! You see three donkeys, but I see five!" |
